Chicago-Pneumatic

Toronto, ON, January 27th, 2015 – Construction equipment manufacturer, Chicago Pneumatic Construction Equipment (CPCE), is pleased to announce the appointment of International Power Systems (IPS) as its exclusive distributor of walk-behind compaction equipment for the provinces of Ontario and Manitoba.

Chicago Pneumatic earned its reputation from its foundation in the pneumatic tool industry as far back as 1889, by producing and selling construction tools in Chicago. It has since grown into a global force that manufactures small equipment and industrial tools to several markets within the construction industry. While already obtaining a well-established brand in the U.S. market and distinguishing itself amongst competitors, CP was looking for a Canadian distributor to assist in the expansion of its presence within Ontario and Manitoba.

International Power Systems is Ontario’s exclusive Honda industrial engine distributor for 20 years, and provides additional premium brand products including generators, water pumps, pressure washers and air compressors—all powered by Honda. With a developed network of over 300 dealers in Ontario, IPS became CP’s first choice. Matt Le Cornu, CP President and General Manager states, “CP is always interested in aligning ourselves with strong, stable partners who have a good position within their respective markets. IPS fits this profile perfectly with its strong history in Ontario and its excellent reputation for service within the light industrial equipment market.”

IPS’ Chief Operating Officer, Martin Connolly, also anticipates the partnership will provide additional options to its customers who require a variety of compacting solutions powered by Honda and engineered to meet the rigors of the jobsite. “We are pleased to provide our customers with a broad line of compaction equipment and to affiliate ourselves with a longstanding brand recognized for its excellence,” says Connolly.

As an exclusive CP distributor, IPS will provide current CP customers with additional access to the parts and service network, while IPS dealers will enjoy a new selection of compactors, rammers, rollers, power packs, related parts, and accessories. Le Cornu remarks, “We expect further growth for both CP and IPS as a result of the partnership of quality product and excellent customer service and we expect to lay the groundwork during 2015 for a long-standing partnership for the future.”
